The Prestige (2006) - Christopher Nolan

Synopsis:
A rivalry between two bitter magicians trying to out do the other escalates when one performs the ultimate illusion.

A solid and fun film which will leave us guessing as to its conclusion until the very end. Slightly underwhelming finish yet perfectly apt. What brings down its ending is, within the third quarter, the need to apparently forget what the film is all about... MAGIC. Why it needed to play with far fetched physics instead of mystery or even potentially a hint of spirituality was beyond me but it certainly left the final act feeling a little dry for a film that was filled with promise almost throughout. Either way you get what you expect from a Nolan, a good film, simple enough to be understood by a main stream audience but complex enough to make them feel smarter for having understood it.
